Rising need in food as schools close through end of school year

On April 23, 2020, Governor Tim Walz announced that schools will be closed through the end of the school year. As a result, our efforts to prepare over a million meals through the end of the school year has become even more vital.

Watch this video to learn more about the dramatic increase in food needs in our community and how we’ve been able to help children and families thanks to support from our community.

Over the past five weeks, we have been able to ease some of the harsh realities of food insecurity for local families by increasing our weekly production by 400% and providing 100,000 meals a week into the community.

Meeting this skyrocketing need is our daily challenge, but more importantly our motivation, to ensure our children and families have access to nutritious food so that this does not become a daily challenge for them.

We need to keep this going through the rest of the school year, and as we start looking into the summer. By making a donation today, you are playing a heroic role in the fight against child hunger. Your continued support is essential for us to fill the rising food gaps through this pandemic. Please make an important and life-changing donation today, and help spread awareness by sharing our coronavirus response video.

Together, we will navigate this uncharted territory!
