Northeast Middle School and Waite Park Church Finalize Partnership, Will Launch The Sheridan Story this Fall

**Update: Waite Park Church has launched a successful and ongoing program at Northeast Middle School. Consider donating to join Waite Park Church as they fight child hunger in Northeast Middle School.**

A new partnership between Northeast Middle School and Waite Park Church has been finalized, with plans to launch The Sheridan Story this fall. This partnership is an important addition to The Sheridan Story’s network of weekend food programs, as students from many of our participating elementary schools go on to attend Northeast Middle School. This new partnership will allow many of the elementary-age kids participating in The Sheridan Story to continue to benefit from the program as they move on to middle school.

Waite Park Church has been in Northeast Minneapolis since 1928 and has experienced a resurgence over the past few years. The church’s goal is to reflect the light of Jesus Christ in the community. They began their involvement at Northeast Middle School a few years ago by supporting and encouraging the teachers and staff in various capacities. They have recently pursued additional service opportunities at the school, including volunteering in the classroom and working one-on-one with students.

qualified for free or reduced lunch. Northeast Middle School’s new leadership is very excited about The Sheridan Story, especially because of the community’s connection and involvement in the program. During the meeting between Northeast Middle School and Waite Park Church regarding The Sheridan Story, conversations also began for further opportunities for a close partnership between the school and church.
