Anisa joined the Every Meal team in July 2026 as a program coordinator. She was drawn to the organization’s mission of fighting child hunger and more specifically the thoughtful, dignified approach Every Meal takes towards fulfilling this mission. Previous to joining the team, Anisa worked for 8 years as a preschool teacher in Minneapolis. During her time there she saw the dramatic impacts that food insecurity had on her student's ability to self-regulate and participate in the classroom community. While she loved her time in the classroom, she was ready to step back from the day to day and find ways to support students beyond the classroom.

Outside of work, you can find Anisa spending time with friends, walking or running near a body of water, cross country skiing in the winter, taking ceramics classes, traveling, or reading a good book!
