Every Meal plays a vital role in fighting child hunger within our communities, and we are honored to partner together to ensure access to nutritious, delicious, and relevant food and help bridge the weekend food gaps for Minnesota children and families.

FOOD PACKING COMPETITION AT MALL OF AMERICA
November 20, 2024 @ 10am – noon
Thrivent and Every Meal invite 10 faith-based organizations to join us at Mall of America on November 20th for a morning of food packing fun! Bring your 10 fastest food packers to the Huntington Bank Rotunda to participate in a food packing competition to reach our goal of packing 3,300 food bags, the equivalent of 12,639 meals that will be distributed to students in 375 schools across Minnesota to help fill the weekend food gap. One lucky team will be awarded the championship.
WHO: 10 teams of 10 individuals
WHAT: Food bag packing competition to pack the most food bags
WHERE: Mall of America, Huntington Bank Rotunda
WHEN: Wednesday, November 20th from 10am – noon
WHY: Over 300,000 children in Minnesota are living with food insecurity, and we need your help to fight this heartbreaking reality.
- Donate $1,000 to Every Meal to go towards the cost of the food packed
- Bring 10 individuals to participate in the food packing competition on November 20 at the Mall of America
- Feel a sense of accomplishment knowing that you are making a local and direct impact in the fight against child hunger in your community!
- Plus you’ll have the chance to win Nickelodeon Universe wristbands and other exciting giveaways and prizes!

Host a Food Drive
We invite you to host a food drive and collect the following non-perishable food items:
- Fruit: Pineapple, peaches, mango, pears, applesauce, mandarin oranges, mango, prunes/raisins
- Vegetable: Carrots, Corn, mixed veggies, green beans, peas, bamboo shoots, baby corn
- Entrée: Chili, chicken noodle soup, pasta sauce, mac and cheese, ravioli, enchilada sauce, chipotle in adobo, diced chiles, diced tomato, tomato paste, fava beans, curry soup, coconut milk, curry paste, tomato soup
- Base/Grain: Rice, spaghetti, macaroni, oatmeal, corn flour, fideo noodle, rice noodle, bean thread noodle
- Protein: Tuna, chicken, black bean
- Snacks: Individually packaged and NUT-FREE
