Rewriting Brooklyn’s Story
Hunger is Silent
While classmates excitedly discuss weekend plans, Brooklyn wonders if there will be enough food at home this weekend.
Hunger is silent, yet it affects over 300,000 children in Minnesota, including students in schools near you. From Friday afternoon to Monday morning, these children go without the reliable school meals that sustain them. For families who are already struggling to get by, bridging this gap can be impossible.
When children lack consistent access to food, it can negatively impact their ability to learn, their emotional well-being, and their physical health. Kids can struggle to concentrate in school, experience higher stress levels, and get sick more often. Additionally, they may feel different from their peers, which can impact their social connections.
More Than Food
Thankfully, many people in our community like you understand the reality of this need. A teacher from one of our partner schools in Southwest Minnesota shared this:
💬 “Nutrition is very important for kids to learn.
So many families struggle to keep food in their homes for their children. If this food bag helps even a little, it is so worth it.”
Every Meal’s weekend food bags provide children with more than just food; it gives them:
- Peace of mind so they focus on being kids instead of worrying about their next meal
- Nutrition that fuels their growing bodies and developing brains
- Belonging with their friends and in the classroom
Rewrite the Story
Brooklyn’s story doesn’t have to remain silent. You can help rewrite it. Your support can create a lasting impact that extends far beyond a single weekend.

Together we can provide peace of mind, nutrition, and belonging throughout the entire school year and beyond.
